We appreciate that costs can be prohibitive for an inventor at an early stage. Therefore, Albright Patents have put together highly competitive all-inclusive Patent Products for seeking UK patent protection.

We provide a Stage 1 Patent Product which costs £2200 + VAT, plus £165 official fees (no VAT) and includes:

• Drafting a UK patent specification including a description, a set of claims, referencing drawings and an abstract
• Filing the application with a Patent Office search request and paying the filing and search fees
• Reporting the filing when the filing receipt is in hand and checking the filing details
• Reporting the search report, when received approximately 4 months after filing and briefly advising on patentability in the light of the search report
• Advising of the foreign filing deadline (12 months from initial filing date)
• Filing inventorship form (if required)
• Reporting publication and checking details
• The official fees include: Filing fee £20, Search fee £130, Citation fee £15

The Stage 2 Patent Product, which can be taken up optionally in light of the search report, costs £1750 + VAT plus £80 official fees and includes:

• Requesting substantive examination and paying the official fee
• Reporting the first examination report and advising on patentability in the light of the report
• Filing amendments in response to the examination report and reporting to client
• Reporting second examination report or notification of grant

In the event that a second (or further) examination report is issued, an additional charge of £600 + VAT will be raised for responding to each report. However, Albright Patents will report notification of grant or refusal as part of the package.

Caveats:

The Stage 1 Patent Product and The Stage 2 Patent Product both include one meeting at the offices of Albright Patents, if necessary. Further meetings will be charged at our hourly attorney rate.

In the Stage 1 Patent Product, drafting will be undertaken based on the information provided by the client. Once a draft patent specification is sent for approval, if further embodiments or significant modifications are required based on additional information not originally provided, extra time will be charged at our hourly attorney rate.

The drawings provided to Albright Patents must meet UK Patent Office filing requirements. If formal drawings meeting Patent Office requirements have to be prepared, then these will be charged at an additional £75 per page.

The specification and claims will not exceed 10 pages in length in Albright Patents standard patent specification format. Each additional page will be charged at a rate of £120 + VAT. Discretion will be exercised in charging half and quarter pages pro-rata.

Once a patent application has been filed, Albright Patents will take no further action until our invoice for the first half of the package is paid in full in cleared funds.
