Trade Marks |
SummaryA Trade Mark or brand name is a badge of commercial origin that distinguishes the goods and/or services of one undertaking from those of another. A Trade Mark is the attractive force that brings in custom, ensures re-purchasing and builds brand loyalty. Trade Marks can be registered in the UK, the European Union and elsewhere throughout the world. Whilst rights can be accrued in a Trade Mark by virtue of its extensive use on an unregistered basis, it is significantly easier and less costly to register your Trade Mark at the outset. An advantage of a Trade Mark registration is that it can be renewed indefinitely (unlike Patents and Design Registrations, which have a limited term). |
