Filing: The process of submitting your patent, design or trade mark application to the patent office.

Further Processing: Certain deadlines relating to a European patent application may be extendible by two months as of right, for example, payment of the search fee or filing a response to an examiantion report. However, depending on what the deadline is, a fee may be payable.
